Carolina Freedom Defeats Area Stars Despite Allowing 3-Run Inning

Even though Carolina Freedom 9U gave up three runs in the fourth inning, they still defeated Area Stars 11-5 on Sunday. Area Stars big bats were led by Eli, Ellis, and Max, who each had RBIs in the inning.


Carolina Freedom 9U got things moving in the first inning, when Colton S singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.


Carolina Freedom 9U notched four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Carolina Freedom 9U was led by Colton, Parker G, Braxton E, and Colin M, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.


Jackson A led things off on the hill for Carolina Freedom 9U. He went five innings, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out four and walking one.


Landon was on the hill for Area Stars. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out three and walking one. Ellis threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.


Carolina Freedom 9U collected nine hits. Jackson, Braxton, and Noah G each collected multiple hits for Carolina Freedom 9U. Jackson led Carolina Freedom 9U with three hits in three at bats. Noah led Carolina Freedom 9U with six stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 18 stolen bases.
